This blend is perfect for summertime! When we sweat, we lose minerals from our body and it’s so important on these hot days to make sure we are remineralizing our bodies. What better way to do that through a delicious tea that not only is remineralizing but also has cooling properties to it such as hibiscus and spearmint! I hope you enjoy this tea as much as I do!!
A little about this blend:
Nettle leaf is an herb noted for its high mineral levels and protective nature. Along with its significant amounts of calcium, nettles contain iron, magnesium, B vitamins, and potassium.
Spearmint is a cooling, mint-flavored herb well-renowned for its ability to soothe the body. It belongs to the Lamiaceae family along with other plants like peppermint (Mentha x piperita). The refreshing herb is known to support digestion, calm the nerves and joints, and whiten teeth. It is estimated that 1 Tbsp of dried spearmint contains 10mg of magnesium.
Hibiscus flowers have a good supply of minerals including calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and zinc. It also contains B-vitamins like niacin and folic acid. This tea is a good source of anthocyanins, which may make it beneficial for managing elevated blood pressure levels, the common cold, and urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Horsetail herb is high in silicon. Silicon is one of the rarest minerals needed by our body and there are very few accessible sources of it in our diet, which is why you so often find it in supplement form. However, horsetail has naturally high concentrations of silicon, which is a key element in protecting bone mineral density and integrity as we age.
